Gary brings over thirty years’ experience to Skeggs Design. After holding senior positions at Danne & Blackburn and Richard Danne & Associates – both well-respected corporate design firms in New York City – he founded Skeggs Design in 1995. Skeggs Design also maintains a collaborative relationship with Union Design in order to offer clients an even broader mix of interactive, design and production services.
Gary’s design aspirations surfaced when, at age twelve, he won first prize in the annual Rotary Club Halloween safety poster contest in his hometown of Bath, Ohio. With encouragement from mentoring teachers, he later enrolled in University of Cincinnati’s influential college of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Armed with intern experience at the National Park Service, Lippincott and Margulies and Addison/Corporate Annual Reports, he soon moved to New York City where he has lived ever since. Gary recharges in the Berkshires where, with wife Susan and daughter Emily, he renovates their turn-of-the-century farmhouse and works in their organic garden when not running, biking, cross-country skiing, or enjoying the area’s many cultural venues.
